On Saturday the 25th, I attended the 8th Annual Nashville Full Moon Tattoo & Horror Festival.  This was my first year to have the opportunity to attend.  Awesome. fullmoon_forweb All around awesome.  If you’re not into tattoos or horror, still go- the level of craftsmanship alone is worth it, but most of all, everyone involved was just plain nice.  Sounds corny, but it’s true.  I think everyone there seemed to be the kind of person you could just kick back and have a beer with.

I didn’t get all of the tattoo artists’ names, my apologies.  But if they are in your area check them out, they were so cool to talk to:   Queen of Hearts and Kustom Thrills (both in Nashville, TN), Wes of Artistic Ink (Greenbrier, TN); Greg Ashcraft with Skinworx (Alabama); General Lee’s Tattoo, Todd Barlow, Scott Sheene, Doll Star Tattoo (Kentucky); Jason Kelly with Ink & Dagger, Chris French with A Dermagraphic Production (Georgia); Kyle Cotterman and SmartBomb Tattoo (Ohio); Altered State Tattoo (Florida); Johnny Lashley, Jason Fritze’s Black Rose Tattoo (Indiana), Sean Young (Missouri).  All of these artists, plus more I didn’t get a chance to meet, were just the best.  Their work was magnificent.  Very pleased to have met them.

In attendance this year were Ken Foree, Sid Haig, William Forsythe, Chris Sarandon, Kane Hodder, Gunnar Hansen, Lloyd Kaufman, and many more.  I don’t want to play favorites, all of them were nice.  I didn’t get a chance to talk to everyone here, either.  But of the ones I did, and this is no reflection on any of the others….

Ken Foree.  He was worth the price of admission alone.  A stand up guy from what my friends and I witnessed and experienced.  William Forsythe was too cool.  Lloyd Kaufman was more than I expected and was very top-notch, very generous, very friendly.  And two special shout-outs to Joel Robinson and Daniel Emery Taylor.  Mr. Taylor’s card says it all:  Actor, Writer, All-Around Swell Guy.  And Joel Robinson?  Another all-around swell guy; he and Ken Foree were the whole show.  It was an honor to have met them.  Crazy awesome cool.  And I can’t forget Levi Montgomery and his crew from BASETAC Training Center; if the undead do ever rise to feed on our flesh and brains, I hope Mr. Montgomery is on our side.

I may have used the words ‘awesome’ and ‘cool’ a little much in this slight article.  But that’s how it was.  Cool.  Awesome.  Unforgettable.
